Community Gleaning and Wildcrafter’s Guild with Katherine & Broni

Join Spoonful Herbal’s Katherine Elmer in 2026 for the return of the “Community Gleaning and Wildcrafting Guild” program, co-taught by local wildcrafter, folk-herbalist and Spoonful Alumni, Broni Grala. Some gatherings may include guest instructors from the community, and students can expect to interact with various locations throughout the Intervale Center.

Participants in the program will be invited to join 2 wildcrafting or gleaning outings per month at the Intervale Center, which will include hands-on instruction from experienced herbalists to gain proper plant ID, medicinal parts and best timing of harvest, best practices to harvest honorably and sustainably.

A focus of the Guild program will be to teach and model the Intervale Forager’s pledge while cultivating skilled community members with an ongoing respectful connection to the Intervale lands and stewardship.

Participants will be invited to bring fresh plant material home and recipes and guidance will be provided so that they can transform that plant material into nutrient dense foods for their families and communities.

Participation in this educational program will be based on a monthly subscription with sliding scale options and it is eligible for VSAC funding.
